Data
The Deltek Reporting Tool settings (Administration >> Settings) are typically configured for you during Implementation, and the Reporting Tool is ready to use. Most settings should not be modified. There are a few settings that Administrators and Configurators may want to modify, such as enabling standard reports.
For questions about a system setting and its impact, please reach out to Deltek Customer Care Support at support.deltek.com.
These settings are configured during implementation and do not typically need to be modified.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Refresh Root Object Hashes | If enabled, the unique hash for all root data objects will be refreshed during the next import of data. Afterward, this setting's value will return to 'No'. |
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Rebuild Cached Data | If enabled, cached data such as dynamic form answers will be rebuilt during the next import of data. Afterward, this setting's value will return to 'No'. |
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Convert DATETIME To TIMESTAMP |
When importing data into the application, convert DATETIME fields to a TIMESTAMP. While TIMESTAMP fields have the best time zone support, they cannot contain a value prior to January 1st, 1970. When this value is set to Yes, all date/time values in reports are returned using the site's configured time zone (System >> Default Time Zone). When set to No, date/time values in reports are displayed using Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)/Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). |

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Debug Mode | Debug Mode should not be enabled without first contacting Deltek Customer Care. |

| Personalize User-Specific Reports | For reports that reference a target user's information, an additional header will be added to XLS & PDF exports indicating the target user's name. |
| Maximum Sheets for XLS | The maximum number of sheets that can be produced by an XLS report. |

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Log Data Queries | Logs report and data object queries to a system file. |
Report Creation
Most of these settings should remain with their default values set at implementation.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Dynamic Preview | Enables dynamic preview in the Report Wizard UI, automatically refreshing the data a few seconds after a change has been detected. |
| Preview Rows | The maximum number of preview rows to display in the Report Wizard UI. |
| Show Key Fields In Data Source Menus |
This setting is disabled by default. Only power users with strong MySQL skills who use the legacy Report Wizard may want this setting enabled for their user group. |
| Enable Report Categories | Enables report categories in the Report Wizard UI. |
| Enable Standard Data Objects | Enables the use of standard data objects in the application. |
| Preview Timeout Seconds |
This setting controls query preview timeout (in seconds). Typically a low value is best for this field. It defaults to 60 seconds.
Note: Best practice is to avoid increasing this setting to a higher value after experiencing a time-out while creating a report. First troubleshoot to ensure the proper functioning of the report, and that there are no functional errors. In most cases a time-out is caused by errors, for example, incorrect table joins. A higher value in this field simply causes longer wait time between actions, which will make troubleshooting more difficult.

| Report Wizard | Though the legacy Report Wizard is still available, we recommend creating, editing, and viewing reports in the Report Working Area. You may want to use this setting to disable the legacy Report Wizard. |

| Show Static Filters | Typically when reort creators add static filters to a report, they are hidden from report viewers. When this option is enabled, static filters will appear in the report viewer ( as read-only ) for all users. Also if Show Conditions In Use or Export Conditions are enabled, static filters will be included in those operations. |
